We had to adapt our AGM this year, and for the first time in our history host a ‘virtual’ meeting. All our members, staff, and committee have adapted so well to the new technology, and in particular Zoom, that this lockdown has forced upon us – thank you to everyone for being so accommodating!
So on Tuesday 11th August we gathered virtually and held REAL’s 25th AGM. It was not the celebration we had been planning, but it was still a celebration of what we have been able to achieve in this past year.
We have added new staff members, such as Kim and Chad, and our members have just loved spending time with these two. Colour My World continued to build in popularity, with sessions increasing to weekly, before lockdown hit. We have spent time updating our systems, developing a new logo, new website, and new online data storage service.
Thank you to all our members, and the families that support them, our staff, and our committee for all the time and effort you each put in to making REAL so great. It’s turned out to be a very different year, but members are still engaging and interacting, learning and growing, trying new things and enjoying old things, so there is much to be thankful for in 2020.
Thank you also to our guest speaker Katrine Gabb – Community Development Officer, Access and Inclusion – from Manningham Council for generously giving us her time.
