Community Connections – A program for adults 18-64 with an intellectual disability.
The new Community Connections Program has received some excellent feedback. Parents and carers are reporting it as ‘wonderful’ and noting the difference in the communication and skill development of the participants. Participants are reporting having fun, trying new things and making new friends.
Initially the program started with 5 participants and now it is ready to blossom with space for 15 more participants. With classes and activities commencing again it’s the perfect time to join in.

Who can participate?
The program is for adults in the Manningham area with an intellectual disability.
What type of activities can be provided?
Current participants have chosen to attend dance classes, lawn bowls and assisting in an Op Shop. However, the options are only limited by existing community activities.
Are the activities specifically for people with a disability?
No. Participants will engage in existing inclusive community activities. The Program Coordinator will determine what support is needed and the best way to access this.
Are there any costs involved?
The program is free however the specific costs to participate in the activity will need to be covered by the participant and any additional supports required.
